From Monday 15 August to Saturday 20 August 2011 we ran a café - inside and out in the late morning and afternoons.
We’re sorry if you missed it!
There were
✓ Freshly ground coffee and tea (Fairtrade, of course)
✓ Home baking
✓ Other goodies
Also part of the café:
✓ information about the Send a Cow charity
✓ puppet shows three times a day Monday to Wednesday
✓ original paintings for sale (in aid of the Christine Witcutt Fund)
✓ mini-exhibition about the history of the building
✓ photographs of Edinburgh and cows
✓ activity packs for children
✓ a solo violin recital on Wednesday
✓ a talk on Friday “Why a Scientist Believes in God”
If you were’t able to come, here’s a flavour of what you missed:
Cow biscuits - priceless! (Actually, £1 each)
The cow for your donations is waiting...
What it’s all about - look it up in the Bible.
A cow arrives.
One of the many paintings for sale - and 10% off each one!
Two of the puppets
Where have all the customers gone? To the puppet show, of course.
Edinburgh’s full of strange characters...
Simon Evans gives a virtuoso performance
Payment in the café was by donation, all of which was forwarded to the Send a Cow charity. The church paid all the café expenses.
